Eugenio Di Rienzo with his son Antonio, inspired by the austere fashion of the Scannese muliebre costume , began to create for the original and bizarre buttoning of his bodice, the precious bottoni with sacred, floral, fantastic and mythological subjects. For men were made the "Grappe," buckles to join and fasten the flaps of the cloak .

Alessio Di Rienzo continued the craftsmanship of the jewelry that adorned the traditional costume of Scanno, also beginning to make jewelry with precious stones , carved from the Bourbon style.

In1926, Comm. Armando Di Rienzo created as a pledge of love for his bride, " the brooch pendant Amorino ". A talisman charged with spiritual strength that to the bride and groom strengthens their love and will to live a happy life in marital communion. It is composed of a crown, a symbol of nobility, a cupid, God of love, who with his arrow strikes a heart arousing amorous passion. First models made were with coral and turquoise .

With Armando and his son Nunziato, Scannese goldsmith handicraft production developed. The goldsmith workshop was born on Viale Degli Alpini . Here 10 young apprentices began working in the banquets, guided by Master Goldsmith Nunziato. 

In 1958 the brooch-dangle Amorino was honored at a world craftsmanship exhibition in New York, becoming the emblem of modern Scannese goldsmithing.

The model was later patented at the L'Aquila Chamber of Commerce.

On May 14, 1960, the Antica Oreficeria Di Rienzo participated in the 24th International Handicrafts Market Exhibition in Florence, receiving the Gold Medal for the creation of the Firenze Premiata Brooch, which became the current Logo of the Goldsmith's Shop. 

On July 31, 1960, Di Rienzo Goldsmiths received a Gold Medal awarded by the L'Aquila Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture to honor their loyalty to their work and economic progress.

On October 22, 1961Antica Oreficeria participated in the National Gathering of Centenary Craft Shops in Turin. The first 100 years of history , from a small village workshop to a nationally recognized craft enterprise , thanks to participation in numerous Craft Exhibitions in major Italian cities. Development of working techniques in filigree,in perforated, chiseled and set foil .

During the 28th International Handicrafts Market Exhibition at Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Armando and his son Nunziato , on May 9, 1964 , received the gold medal for the creation of the Florence Bracelet handcrafted in 800 ‰ burnished silver and made in the style of Scannese Baroque with motifs depicting flora and fauna.

On March 9, 1971, the Rome Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture awarded Antica Oreficeria the Gold Medal for its production exhibited at the Rome Fair.

In consideration of special merits : after hearing the Council of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic , on the proposal of the President of the Council of Ministers , on June 2, 1983 , conferred the honor of Grand Officer on Mr. Armando Di Rienzo . The Chancellor of the Order declares that in execution of the Presidential provisions Mr. Armando Di Rienzo has been entered in the list of National Grand Officers at No. 3996 Series III.

On May 1, 1989 in Rome , the International Academy for Economic and Social Sciences conferred the HonoraryGolden Hercules on Gr. Uff. Armando Di Rienzo with the following motivation : "as the highest expression of merit for the high degree of preparation achieved and for the effective contribution in favor of the progress and welfare of the nation."

On July 23, 1993, the L'Aquila Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture awarded the Gold Medal to master goldsmith Nunziato , for having contributed to keeping the goldsmith's art of Scanno vital by producing works of considerable value.

With the acquired industriousness and artistry, the successors Armando e Eugenio continue to make illustrious the priceless inheritance received by spreading in Italy and abroad the knowledge, beauty and value of ancient jewelry in Scannese folk customs.

On May 17, 2001, for the conferring of honorary citizenship on President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, goldsmith Eugenio handcrafted the key to the town of Scanno in 18k yellow gold.

In 2010 Master Goldsmith Eugenio had the honor of making the pins with precious stones to pin on Pope Benedict XVI 's Papal Pallium on the occasion of his coming to Sulmona for the celebration of the Celestinian Jubilee Year.

The digitization process of the old goldsmith shop continues with the entry of young Philip , seventh generation. A growth project with digital marketing strategies is developed. An online shop was also created , thanks to which we export our tradition all over the world.

Dal 30 Gennaio al 5 Febbraio 2022 , selezionata dalla Regione Abruzzo , l’antica oreficeria partecipò ad Expo Dubai 2020 , all’interno del Padiglione Italia , come rappresentante delle eccellenze artistiche regionali.
