Thirteen Bracelet

Description

Multi-purpose amulet, called ‘’thirteen’’ to recall the center of the medal which has thirteen other pendants hung by tiny chains. This complex amulet was part of the gifts given to newborn; each figure was representing a symbolic effect, of similarity and charm; for example the dog represents loyalty, Saint Lucy is eyesight’s guardian, the hunchbacked man is a symbol of fortune, the star represents destiny… Shepherds used to carry these amulets around with them for all their lives, usually attached to clock chains, for charm purpose.
