In Scanno, as in every community, when pastorism was prosperous and rich, bride and groom were carried to the altar with a substantial dowry for a calm future, even if with some sacrifices. Women received so many jewels and good luck charms, lot of them had different shape. One of this objects was the ”Crucicchia” : Red gold 9k cross, in cut foil adorned with garnets. This pendant was part of a choker necklace made in tubular knitted gold wire. This cross type has origins in the XVII-XVIII century by the Iberian court gold smithery, comparable to the Sicilian and southern French productions of those centuries.
